Nanotechnology International Prize RUSNANOPRIZE

The Prize has been established by Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO). Starting from 2009 it is awarded on a yearly basis to researchers whose nanotechnology discoveries and innovations have been applied to production as well as to companies that practically implemented them. The main goal of the Prize is to inspire and recognize innovations in the field of nanotechnology and nanoindustry.

The Prize is awarded in one of the following fields: NanoElectronics, NanoMaterials, NanoBiotechnology and NanoDiagnostics.

Nanotechnology International Forum RUSNANOTECH 2010

The RUSNANOTECH Forum serves as a global platform for the discussion of issues related to innovation development and ongoing formation of the nanotech industry. In its first 2 years of operation, the Forum has become an essential resource for all participants in the innovation process: scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, financial experts, and public officials from federal and regional government agencies.

In 2009, more than 11,000 people from 78 RF regions and 38 countries around the world took part in Forum activities.

Rusnano in talks on slice of Plastic Logic

Russia’s state controlled nanotechnology corporation, Rusnano, is in talks with British plastic electronics leader, Plastic Logic to buy a stake in the company and bring production to Russia.

New exciton-plasmon nanoemitter

Russian physicists from luminescence department of Lebedev Institute of Physics created three-component hybrid nanoparticles, which can be used for building nanolasers.

Since the moment of invention, lasers have found numerous applications in human life. Unique properties of their radiation allow using them in various fields of science and technology, as well as in ordinary life – compact disc players, laser printers, bar code scanners, laser pointers and many more.

NT-MDT Co. invites you to participate in the ProIMAGE Contest 2010. The contest is a competition of images obtained with NT-MDT probes.

Russian Volunteers to Test Anti-HIV Vaccine

Russian scientists from Novosibirsk developed a candidate vaccine “CombiHIVvac”, consisting of B and T cell immunogenic agents. First stage of clinical trials is expected to finish by the end of 2010.

The vaccine promotes antibodies to not only recognize HIV-1 antigens, but also neutralize the virus. The vaccine is recognized worldwide as one of most advanced vaccine constructions in the world, which can be used for improving future vaccines.

Three laboratory types of the vaccine have successfully passed laboratory tests and preclinical trials.

Electron Beam Helps Building a Fuel Cell

Russian physicists from Tomsk Institute of High-Current Electronics (Siberian branch of Russian academy of sciences) suggest using some particular features of high-current electron beam for building fuel cells for hydrogen economy.

Self-organizing nanotechnologies control metallic material properties

Andrey Oksogoev at the Institute of High Technologies (Ulan-Ude) has carried out an experiment that proves assumptions made earlier. Research of S.P. Kurdumov’s school dealt with energy division into thermal and nonthermal components upon changes in the environment structure. This possibility is the most important objective for establishing self-organizing nanotechnologies.

Rusnano to help supply innovative construction materials

The Russian Housing Development Foundation and the Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (Rusnano) have signed an agreement on cooperation, the joint press release states. The document is aimed at expanding the use of innovative materials in the construction sphere, including those created with the use of nanotechnologies.

Rusnano to be reorganized

President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has signed Federal Law On Reorganization of Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO)
